Arrest of Violating Hunters and Documentation of Hunting Violations in Northern Areas

The joint operations team of the Anti-Poaching Unit (APU) (CABS–MECSHAP) carried out a series of field missions involving inspections, monitoring, and interventions in several northern areas, in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces. The operations resulted in the arrest of several violating hunters and the documentation of hunting violations, which were handed over to the relevant security and judicial authorities for the necessary legal action.

The APU, affiliated with the Middle East Center for Sustainable Hunting (MECSHAP) and established within the sustainable hunting community, works in partnership with the international Committee Against Bird Slaughter (CABS) to curb the indiscriminate killing of birds and combat poaching, thereby contributing to the protection of biodiversity and the promotion of responsible and sustainable hunting practices.

The unit carries out its field missions in coordination and cooperation with the competent environmental judiciary, the Gendarmerie Command Operations Room, the Public Relations Division of the Internal Security Forces, and Lebanese Army Intelligence, ensuring that violations are documented and followed up in accordance with the applicable legal frameworks.
