Through a joint effort between APU and the Bekaa Investigation Unit, and across the areas of Al-Qaa, Qaa Projects, Arsal, Jabouleh, Al-Jadideh, and Massa, the APU joint operations team MESHC – SPNL – CABS, in cooperation and coordination with the Bekaa Investigation Unit under the Bekaa Regional Command, carried out over the past days a series of high-impact field missions accompanied by extensive intelligence sharing.
These operations resulted in the removal of approximately 7,975 meters of bird-killing nets used in illegal hunting across the northern Bekaa areas, including Al-Qaa, Qaa Projects, Arsal, Jbouleh, Al-Jadideh, and Massa.
During the missions, a large number of birds trapped in the nets were freed, and hundreds of dead birds were documented as a result of this form of illegal hunting. Electronic calling devices, batteries, cables, and solar panels used to power these devices were also confiscated. The relevant units followed up the case with the competent judiciary to take the appropriate legal measures.
This operation is considered the largest net-removal operation ever carried out in Lebanon, achieved through precise coordination with the Bekaa Investigation Unit and reflecting the seriousness, professionalism, and strong field and security expertise of its officers.
